Because I work on pretty large format landscapes, my paintings tend to take a little longer and as a result, I don’t post as often. For sketch of the week we decided to post a crop of one of my work-in-progress paintings! I will post the full image as soon as it’s done!


Minister of Arts and Culture

This is a sketch of our Minister of Arts and Culture: Lulu Xingwala. She has been in the news recently for walking out of a women’s art exhibition; apparently offended by a series of photographs by Zanele Muholi. The work, that features naked women embracing was deamed “immoral, offensive and going against nation-building” by the Minister.
