An unintentional error or mistake which serendipitously renders a creative work closer to what the artist originally intended or envisioned: Andy accidentally spilt turpentine on his painting, which yielded the washed out colours he had been trying to achieve, and he was both surprised and happy with this phluke up.

An intuitive and profound understanding of any creative work or creative process, whereby one’s innate or instinctive perception is given priority over more intellectual understanding: “Art should be uberstood, not understood” said Riki knowingly, as he set fire to yet another intellectually-elitist art gallery.

Anthropop (n.) / Anthropopular (adj.)

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Throughout time, there has been a recurrence of styles, elements, and themes which are consistently manifested in designs and artworks, and proof of the popularity of these reoccurring developments can be seen in the overall anthropological history of humankind: Realising that more organic designs are an Anthropopular response to the mechanization of today’s world, Glyph has used them as reference.

The process by which a client becomes more conscious of the corporate culture he or she belongs to through the development of an Integrated Corporate Artwork, culminating in the visual manifestation of that culture in the final art piece. Following his participation in the InVolve Session, Martin was more aware of the underlying corporate culture of his business, and as a result, was better able to harness and direct that culture to the companies benefit.

Phocus (v.)

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Consciously directing your attention away from a direct task, so that you may complete the task intuitively: By making his footwork the object of his phocus, Andy’s hand speed greatly improved.

Brushido (n.)

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

The all encompassing artistic code followed by Glyphic Evolutions, which promotes integrity, discipline, and artistry in all creative endeavours: Rikki honourably explored designs he did not think would work, because the Brushido code demands that every option be considered for a client.

Phlow (n.)

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

A state of being whereby acute conscious control of a task is relinquished, allowing one to exploit a natural growth and progression in their work: Rikki begins his artwork with broad, rough brush strokes to achieve a phlow.
